Palpa district is administratively divided into 8 rural municipalities and 2 municipalities. It is surrounded by Rupendehi, Arghakhanchi, Syanja, Nawalparasi  and Gulmi district.

Palpa Hospital is one of the hilly districts situated in the Lumbini Province. It is a district lying in lumbini zone 38 km away form the East-west Mahendra highway.
This district is well known for the famous pilgrimage site-the Bhagwati  temple, 

Palpa Hospital is one of the hospitals in Nepal. The hospital is located in the heart of Tansen Bazaar, the headquarters of Palpa district.

Palpa Hospital – It is the Province government hospital of Palpa  district- is situated at Tansen municpality ward no. 4. It is the oldest government hospital in Nepal (It is believed that the hospital was build up nearly 100 years ago), as a 15 bedded hospital. Before the established of the hospital, it was a health center was upgraded to District Hospital .

In fiscal year 2076/77,  the hospital has been providing this service continuously the fiscal year 2076/77 become a milestone to mark progress of the hospital in its history as it is upgraded to 50 beds.
In fiscal Year 2076/77 different changes and improvement of hospital. 24 hour Lab, X-ray & USG services, Electronic computerized system, establishment of Social service Unit (SSU), Installation of software in different department, geriatric service, DOTS Service, OCMC service, installation of CC Camera and Intercom, Repairment and renovation of building Design of Master plan with DPR for 50 bedded hospital are achievement of fiscal year 076/077.
